We believe that extracurricular activities provide positive emotional release and help develop positive self-concepts.  They are an integral part of the school program at Newton High School.  We are a member of the 8-school Little Hawkeye Conference (LHC).  Newton is classified as a 4A school category for the State of Iowa and is affiliated with the Iowa Girls' High School Athletic Union and the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
