Students who age out of Iowa's foster care system, age out of the Iowa State Training School, or who are adopted from foster care after the age of 16 may qualify for the All Iowa Opportunity Foster Care Grant program. This grant can be used for any college expenses including tuition, fees, books and supplies, dorms and off-campus housing, meal plans, transportation, and personal living expenses.  For the application and more information, click here

Scholarship:  Hy-Vee Foundation Scholarship



·        High school senior that is working for Hy-Vee or subsidiary who began employment in or before September 15, 2018 or a high school senior son and or daughter of a full, regular or part-time Hy-Vee or subsidiary employee who has a minimum of six months employment as of September 15, 2017.

·        Must be enrolling in college for the first time and be planning to attend an accredited two year school being that they will then further their schooling at a four year school to obtain their bachelors degree.

Scholarship:  Horatio Alger Iowa Scholarship



·        Enrolled full-time as a high school senior in Iowa.

·        Must intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree at the University of Iowa (May start at a 2 year institution and transfer to U of              Iowa).

·        Critical financial need (preferable $50,000 or less adjusted gross income per family).

·        Minimum GPA of 2.0

·        United States citizen.

·        Involvement in co-curricular & community service activities.

Scholarship:  Iowa State Univ. – Christina Hixson Awards



·        Plan to attend Iowa State University.

·        Students must have faced challenges of personal and/or financial hardship.

Scholarship: Hagan Scholarship


· ACT score of 23 or higher and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher

· File the FAFSA and have an EFC of $7,500 or less

· Have a part time job amounting to 240 hours or more in the 12 months leading up to college entrance 

· Plan to attend an eligible four year college/university

Amount: $1,000 to $40,000 per year

Iowa School Counselor Association High School Senior Scholarship 

  • For 12th grade students attending a high school in Iowa
  • Applicants must submit a 250 word (maximum) essay about a school counselor who made a difference during their K-12 career.
  • Applications are due January 4, 2019
  • The winner will be announced during National School Counseling Week.

Flavorful Futures Scholarship

Applications must meet ALL the following criteria:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States.
  • Must be a high school senior graduating between August 1, 2018 and July 31, 2019.
  • Must have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4 point scale (high school/home schooled seniors).
  • Must enroll for Fall 2019 as a freshman or 1st year student in part-time or full-time study at a 2-year, 4-year, college, university, trade or vocational school. The school must be an accredited U.S. institution, and listed on the official website for the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Must not be a relative or dependent child of an employee of Talking Rain or any of its retail customers.

Scholarship:  Key Cooperative Community Scholarship



  • Parent or Guardian must be a Class A or Class B member of Key Cooperative.
  • Be a high school senior who will be graduating in 2014.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.65.
  • Plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited 2 or 4 year college, university or vocational-technical school in the U.S.
  • Major course of study in an agricultural or ag-business field, information systems, accounting, auto/truck repair, carpentry or masonry construction.

New Century FS Scholarship


This scholarship program is meant to encourage area students to prepare for a career in agriculture or agribusiness and to provide college financial assistance to dependents of New Century employees or customers.


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be active or seeking membership in local agriculture groups, including membership in his/her local FFA chapter or 4-H
  • Be a dependent of a New Century FS customer, member, or employee
  • Provide transcripts proving a satisfactory GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Recipient agrees to attend a New Century FS Board Meeting or company sponsored event

Scholarship:  Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education



  • Committed to pursuing automotive-related studies, such as technician training, body shop/collision repair, diesel, new vehicle sales, parts sales, accounting or business administration.

Scholarship:  Iowa Financial Know How



  • The Senior Scholarship is a no-purchase-required scholarship open to legal U.S. residents, regardless of financial need, grade point average, class rank or intended college, who:
  • Are seniors at an Iowa high school during the current school year.
  • Attend college the fall following the registration dates.
  • To qualify for the scholarship, students must:
  • Register online Oct. 22, 2018–Feb. 22, 2019.
  • Complete two online financial literacy tutorials and a related online assessment created by Iowa Student Loan.
  • The three online components take a total of about one hour for students to complete. The 30 seniors who score highest on the assessment* will receive a $2,000 scholarship sent directly to their colleges the following fall.
  • * If a tiebreaker is necessary, students with tied scores will be asked to complete and submit a separate component.
