HELLO AND WELCOME...
... to the Newton Community Preschool site. I’m Jim Gilbert, Director of Elementary Education in our district and I am privileged to oversee the operation of our preschool.

We have a friendly, caring and knowledgeable team of preschool faculty. Each teacher has developed a warm, fun and safe place for kids to come and learn. Students are provided a wide variety of experiences to develop skills. In every classroom, you’ll find students engaged in play, sharing, singing, painting, learning phonemes and phonics, recognizing letters and words, solving problems together, using manipulatives to build math skills and much more.

In addition, we are fortunate to have trained associates who team with our teachers to provide the individualized attention that each child needs. Our team works to differentiate instruction to accommodate the needs of each student. We begin with the child’s needs and work from there.

Finally, we have a superb Site Coordinator, Jamie Cranston, who is in charge of daily operations and the delivery of instruction in our program. Mrs. Cranston works to ensure that all student and staff needs are met.

Our program serves 3 and 4 year olds during 4 half-day sessions (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.) We do not have preschool on Wednesdays.

Our morning session is from 8:15-11:15 and our afternoon session is from 12:15-3:15. Both our 3 and 4 year old programs are currently full but we are taking names for the waiting lists.
