Welcome to Newton Community School District and Aurora Heights Elementary. We are proud to be Newton Cardinals and Aurora Heights Knights.
We strive for educational excellence at Aurora Heights. Our students work in an environment of high expectations for academics and character. We work toward continuous improvement in the areas of reading and math along with numerous other building goals. The six pillars of character guide us in our daily interactions as a school "family". Parents are welcome at Aurora Heights any time. We enjoy tremendous support from our PTA and parents. Whether as a volunteer in the classroom, a homeroom parent, or annual spring Carnival helper---each provides a necessary level of support. More importantly, we appreciate the day to day support parents/guardians give each student by modeling a value of learning, the importance of education, the importance of homework, and the importance of doing one's best. A favorite quote of mine comes from Chief Sitting Bull---"Let us put our heads together and see what life we will make for our children." It is a high calling.
