Scholarship: Iowa Foster Care Grant

Qualifications:

Students who age out of Iowa's foster care system, age out of the Iowa State Training School, or who are adopted from foster care after the age of 16 may qualify for the All Iowa Opportunity Foster Care Grant program. This grant can be used for any college expenses including tuition, fees, books and supplies, dorms and off-campus housing, meal plans, transportation, and personal living expenses.  For the application and more information, click here.

Qualifications:

Scholarship:  Des Moines Officials Association Scholarship

 

Qualifications:

·        Must be a senior at a high school within Polk, Dallas, Boone, Story, Jasper, Marion, Warren or Madison counties.

·        Participate in football or basketball for at least their senior season.  Should exhibit characteristics of leadership and sportsmanship.

·        Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of application. ( A copy of your transcript must accompany your application.)

·        Student shall be of outstanding character, be a total team player, demonstrate the highest level of sportsmanship during their career, be a leader on and off the field/floor, and serve as a role model for all students in their high school.

·        Application must have two letters of reference.  These letters can come from any coach, school administrator, or faculty member.

·        Student must attach a 150-300 word essay of their understanding of what it takes to exemplify good sportsmanship and be a leader. 

·        Must have applied at a qualified post secondary educational institution for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Qualifications:

·        High school seniors who are openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

·        Applicants should have a GPA of 3.0 or better, an ACT score of 22 or better, demonstrate LGBT activism and community service and a history of high moral and ethical standards and conduct.

Scholarship:  Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education

Qualifications:

·        Committed to pursuing automotive-related studies, such as technician training, body shop/collision repair, diesel, new vehicle sales, parts sales, accounting or business administration.

·        Preference will be given to applicants who plan to attend an Iowa college or university.

Amount:  15 $2,000 scholarships.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

· Any applicant enrolling in a Powerline/Lineworker program.

· Recipients must be enrolled in a lineworker program and begin school within 12 months. In the event the lineworker program is full and the college of choice is maintaining a student waiting list, the recipient must provide proof in writing in order to hold funds for the next open enrollment period.

  The Beauty + Wellness Scholarship for Women and each quarter we award $1,000 + a care package filled with healthy organic goodies to young women who are striving to maintain their health and wellness as they pursue their higher education goals.
